To match the level of our wines, we engaged the Top Lisbon Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, also referred to as “the Jamie Oliver of Portugal” due to his cooking show on national TV to consult our team. We are lucky enough to count on his amazing talent and creativity, which he developed in London, Sydney and in the United States (at the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts), before returning to Lisbon in 2002 and working at ‘Flores’ in the Bairro Alto Hotel among other restaurants.
Distinguished as "Chef of the Year" in 2005, he opened his first restaurant, the “Alma” (meaning "Soul") in 2009. Our cuisine is driven by what ordinary people eat all over Portugal. Regional, simple dishes, the best seasonal ingredients we can source locally, unpretentious and quality driven, ‘live food’, all made with care and attention to detail. We aim to provide a Portuguese culinary experience both during our events as also in our "Friday Restaurant".
You cannot possibly get more local than our wine list. We are really proud to serve all our wines by the glass as well as by the bottle, so guests can mix and match, try something new or order a different wine with every course. Our friendly staff is at hand to give a recommendation.
