Join us for another in our Wine Dinner series, this time to celebrate the opening of the National Museum of Music, we will delve into Mafra’s rich history, and dabble in Royal scandal….
Sant’Ana’s vineyards border what was the hunting ground of King Dom Luis I – now the Tapada de Mafra. This gave the naughty King, known for his love of the arts, music, and especially known for his nighttime dalliances, the perfect excuse to ride over and visit Rosa Damasceno who lived at Quinta de Sant’Ana, a well-known actress of the time who had caught the King’s eye… Behind the facade of Mafra’s National Palace we all know and love, hides a web of intrigue and colourful characters – so let this Wine Dinner take you back 150 years, discover Sant’Ana’s role in our region’s history and why every one of our wine bottles proudly shows the word MAFRA on the label.
With music to get you in the 19th Century Royal Court mood, this Wine Dinner promises to be a feast for the eyes, ears and palate.
7pm – Soirée: wine, music and witty conversation
8.30pm – Five course banquet and wine pairing inspired by 19th century cuisine.
11pm – The Ball… with a dash of Revelry. Courtly cocktails and dancing with our Maestro of Melodies DJ Galvão.
12pm – Carriages at Midnight
Dress Code – Smart Casual. A glimmer of 19th century royal glam if you are so inclined.

A highlight of our wine dinners is the joy of meeting new people, sharing stories, and enjoying unforgettable wine moments. But in case you bring a table of friends:
- If you are purchasing multiple tickets: Please leave us a note during your online purchase with the names of everyone you’d like to share a table with, and we’ll make sure to seat you together.
- If your friends are purchasing their tickets separately: Provide us with the lead name for your table so we can group you accordingly.
