What is the Festival da Nossa Terra?
It’s a celebration rooted in wine, where regional traditions and diverse cultures meet through music, vibrant costumes, and one massive, contagious smile.
Originally a small harvest lunch, the event has grown into a regional favourite, expanding tenfold in popularity since its humble beginnings in 2007.
The festival is a time to embrace the natural feeling of gratitude that comes with living and working in a place like Gradil — an autumnal sense of “saudade” for gathering with friends and family, celebrating the the harvest, busy season and cherishing life’s greatest pleasures: the small ones.
Come October, we prepare for our FESTIVAL DA NOSSA TERRA, a charity event that celebrates our “terra”—the earth we live on, the village of Gradil that we call home, and the land we are honored to care for.
We feel the support of our local community, as well as a growing international circle of friends, all coming together to feast on spit-roasted pork, freshly baked garlic bread, água-pé, and the season’s new wines. Sit on straw bales, listen to amazing live music, laugh, sing, dance, and savour every moment. Life is precious, and at the Festival da Nossa Terra, we celebrate it to the fullest!
As part of our Festival da Nossa Terra, we raise funds to support local causes, from enhancing village amenities to uplifting community projects. This year, proceeds will go towards purchasing a minivan for Casa do Povo and, as last year, supporting Apoio Domiciliario, an organization dedicated to assisting the elderly in Gradil.
Throughout the year, 30 to 40 elderly, often lonely residents receive a beautiful bouquet of our homegrown flowers and a small treat on their birthday—whether it’s a visit to the local hairdresser, a massage, or a bottle of wine. These thoughtful gestures, whether simple luxuries or essential comforts, bring immense joy and brighten their (and our) everyday lives.
It’s heartwarming to see how these community-driven gifts bring smiles to those who need them most.
We would be truly grateful if you could join us in supporting these meaningful causes with a donation, whether in products, services, or financial support, to help us maximize our contribution. Your generosity will go a long way in supporting this cause, and we would be thrilled to have your name associated with this heartfelt initiative.
